Drug Education Program

The Drug Education Program (DEP) is a program students are typically sanctioned to complete upon receiving a citation from University Housing or the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards for a drug violation. DEP is a brief prevention and intervention program facilitated by the Center for Health Education & Wellness. DEP utilizes a harm reduction framework to help students reflect on their personal substance use and make more informed decisions about using substances.

This is a 2-hour online course and topics covered include:

  • Assessment of use
  • Cannabis
  • Substances & the brain
  • Tolerance & overdose
  • Polysubstance use
  • Risk reduction strategies

Students are welcome to volunteer to participate in the program.
