The Alcohol Education Program (AEP) is a program students are typically sanctioned to complete upon receiving a citation from University Housing or the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards for an alcohol violation. AEP is a brief prevention and intervention program facilitated by the Center for Health Education & Wellness. AEP utilizes a harm reduction framework to help students make more informed decisions about drinking.
This is a 2-hour online course and topics covered include:
- Alcohol expectancy theory
- Assessment of use
- Alcohol & the body
- Blood alcohol concentration
- Biphasic effects of alcohol
- Polysubstance use
- Risk reduction strategies
Students are welcome to volunteer to participate in the program.
