Hike the Hill in Heels

Help us kick off the month by hiking to raise awareness about sexual assault.

Due to the potential of severe storms during today’s Hike the Hill in Heels event, the event has been relocated to Thompson Boling Arena.

All hikers should enter through Gate D. The timeline for events will remain the same with Chancellor kicking off the hike at 12:30 pm from the floor of the arena. The hike will then proceed up the stairs and hikers will make three laps around the concourse. The hike will conclude back at the center of arena where the best runway way walk, heel decorating, and largest team contests will take place.

This project was supported by Grant No. 2015-WA-AX-0024 awarded by the Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice. The opinions, findings, conclusions, and recommendations expressed in this publication/program/exhibition are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women.

Hike the Hill in Heels is also generously supported by the United Residence Halls Council.

Decorate your heels before the Hike!  There will be a craft table at HSS Plaza from 11 AM – 12:30 PM!

Participants who enter this competition will walk down a cat-walk in heels. The best walk will be decided by a panel of three judges. The runway competition will be held on the hill. The winner of this competition will win a trophy.

The team with the most participants will be awarded a prize at the conclusion of the hike.

Borrowing Heels

We have a limited number of heels that participants can borrow for use during the Hike.  Heels will be on a first come first served basis.

Those who request to borrow heels will receive an email one week before the event notifying them if we have reserved a pair of heels for them, or whether our supply has run out.

All borrowed heels will be picked up next to the registration table on the day of the Hike.  All heels will be returned at the hill.

Participants will be able to decorate a limited number of borrowed heels the day of the event.
